Actor Akshay Kumar graced the launch of Segways for Police Patrolling at Worli Seaface, says he is grateful being the part of the event.
In a first-of-its-kind revolution, Mumbai Police forces will now conduct patrolling on Segway electric scooters in the city. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh inaugurated Segway electric scooters for police personnel.
The event saw Aaditya Thackrey, Parambir Singh, Vishwas Nangre Patil and Akshay Kumar grace the event. Fifty two-wheeled, self-balancing ‘personal transporters’ were deployed in south Mumbai.
Taking the centre stage at the event, Akshay Kumar said, “I am so happy and so proud that Mumbai Police is going to get a vehicle through which they will be able to control a lot of things over here. I think that’s good news for all the citizens of Mumbai. I am thankful to Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Government for making me a part of this ceremony”
The actor, who has played a cop in numerous films including Mohra, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Khakee and Aan: Men At Work, returns in a uniformed avatar on the big screen soon with Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi.
